“Like most people, Roberto entered a chrysalis during the COVID lockdown but is emerging with a show that’s wild, luminous, and unexpected.

“Rather than force creativity, he decided to work only when the Muses took hold; unseen forces stirred his hands and feverish visions dragged him from sleep.

“The paintings arrived as playful experiments, guided by dreams and years of devising mediums. The evolving 3D sound collage came almost fully formed in a dream as a layered ambient piece of surprising chords, rhythms, and silence. The light-and-shadow sculpture revealed itself during a ritual bath meditation, bursting into sketches that echoed the mood and color of the sound.

“When Roberto shared the vision with Sayaka and Hanna, they opened their magical Dumbo space for the show.
