This album started as an experiment for this art show (photos by Dan Ichimoto, except for the posters and album covers):
“I had a live music idea for my Metamorphosis show (7/26 – 8/2/25) where I created semi-random (but compositionally related) chords with different types of percussion in two different time signatures, lending it a tension-and-release dynamic.
“Visitors enjoyed hearing it drone on for hours at a time and I caught ideas for fine-tuning it a little bit, adding a few things here and there for spice. I mixed down a few hours of the final incarnation and found that the first 20 minutes and last 20 minutes seemed to be the best parts, so I cut that down to two 20 minute tracks, perfect for an LP.”
