“This record came together almost by accident.
“I had an idea for my Metamorphosis show (7/26 – 8/2/25) where I’d run two algorithmic loops (by hand, not by AI or any other generative bullcrap) creating semi-random chords in two different time signatures, lending it a tension-and-release dynamic.
“Visitors enjoyed hearing it drone on for hours at a time and I caught ideas for fine-tuning it a little bit, adding a few things here and there for spice. I mixed down a few hours of the final incarnation and found that the first 20 minutes and last 20 minutes seemed to be the best parts, so I cut it down to two 20 minute tracks, like an old school ambient LP.
“And then in a flash of inspired pragmatism, I decided that it’d be the perfect excuse to get my new record label set up and sorted out and plan to release Metamorphosis in December.”
